Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Chie means, ‘blessed with wisdom’ in Japanese. This 16 pound 12-year-old, female red Shiba Inu spent time as a stray and a few rounds in the shelter. The last time her owner couldn’t take her back, the shelter noticed she had some mammary tumors that would require surgery and possible other expensive treatment. Fortunately, DCSIR fans came together to help cover her medical care and Chie came to DCSIR the day after Thanksgiving. Chie recently underwent surgery to remove her mammary tumors and has gotten a clean bill of health! She is up to date on shots and wellness tests and exams. Chie is living in a multi-pet foster home and gets along well with the other dogs and cats; she prefers low-key friendly dogs that won't pester her. She is mobile and agile, she can go for mile walks and jump on the couch or run up and down stairs; she acts much younger than her age.
Extended (MD/VA/DC/SC/NC/PA/DE/NJ/NY/WV) Dogs: Yes Cats: OK Kids: 12 yr +
