Meet Blackie!
Blackie is a 5 yr Chihuahua that was surrendered by his senior owner because she was no longer able to care for him or his fur-siblings. Buddy can seem shy or nervous about meeting new people at first but with patience he warms up quickly. Blackie is a very small Chi, only weighing 6lbs. He gets along with other dogs and ignores cats but has not been around too many young children. Buddy is a very sweet lapdog and would do well in a family that is looking to spoil him furever!

Blackie is:
Microchipped
Up-to-Date on Vaccines (Distemper, Bordatella and Rabies)
Heartworm Negative
Receiving Heartworm Prevention
Receiving Flea Prevention
Neutered

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Blackie, a Oakland Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Oakland, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Oakland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Oakland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Oakland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Oakland paves the way for another one to be saved.
