Abby's Story...
Hello world! My name is Abby! I am an angelic female Golden/Australian Shepherd mix born in 2004. I weigh around 45 pounds.

Do you have room in your heart and home for a sweet senior like me?! I hope so, because I'm just about the sweetest lady around that is sure to bring light and happiness into your home. Not to mention, there are lots of benefits to adopting a senior dog. For one, I'm a very wise, polite, lady who already knows her manners. I've mastered basic commands and obedience, so you won't have to stress about that. You won't even have to worry about me getting into your stuff and chewing it up- I am well past the search and destroy stage, teehee! With that being said, old dogs can learn new tricks too! In fact, it might even be easier to teach me new things! (I have a much better attention span than a young pup!) Secondly, senior dogs have awesome, mellow, laid-back temperaments and I am no exception! I'm a very chill gal who is always up for a good snuggle! I am also so FLUFFY. So fluffy, in fact, some might say I resemble a cloud in the sky! My soft, feathery, coat makes cuddle time that much more enjoyable! My irresistible fluffliness has got to be one of my best features. It makes me look more youthful! As a matter of fact, people often mistake me for a puppy at first! I guess you could say I'm a ‘forever puppy' in that sense.

True to my breed, I'm a very sweet lady! Goldens are known for their friendly and positive nature and you'll see that trait in me the second we meet! I'll be sure to greet you with a laid back tail wag, adorable smile on my face, and a good lean-in to let you know I want you to pet me. However, small children do seem to make me uncomfortable so I'd be happiest in a home without them. As for other canine friends, I'm not sure if I've interacted with them much in the past. However, I would be happy to give it a go and meet any potential fur siblings in the home to see if we are a good match.

What're you waiting for?! Ask the front desk to meet me today! You're going to fall in love when you see what a teddy bear I am!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Abby, a Denver Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Denver, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Denver.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Denver already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Denver breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Denver paves the way for another one to be saved.
