My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Scout fka Misty is a 2 year old spayed black female Lab who weighs 70 pounds.

Scout is a very relaxed, well behaved girl who just wants a human companion. Her demands are few- food, potty breaks and some walks. She would go on two two mile powerwalks each day with her owner, which more than satisfied her need for exercise. She is trained to ignore cats, deer and dogs while on leash, but does get excited when she sees cats and squirrels outside, so the jury is out on cats. She is trained to sit and stay and to not eat until told to. She is crate trained but does not need to be crated and is totally housebroken. She is excellent for baths and very good in the car. She has been charged by loose dogs while on walks, so she is a little wary of dogs until properly introduced. She is a dream on the leash. She seemed to enjoy toddlers, and was very gentle with them, but has never lived with children, so she is approved for kids 10 and up. Scout's lone shortcoming is she gets hyper excited when company comes and can not contain her enthusiasm, so a group training class is highly recommended for her so she can learn to listen with a number of people around as well as she does one-on-one.
