Yes, Pollo is a Dalmatian. Animatch was surprised to learn that there are Dalmatians with “lemon coloured spots”. Pollo finds this information quite pointless and trivial – after all they are just spots! His only concern is finding the best possible home that will meet his every need. If you are a sedentary person, please check out other dogs ... a Dalmatian is not for you. They love to play, play, and then play some more. Dals were bred to run for hours alongside a horse-drawn coach – they do not tire easily. Much as they need tons of exercise they are not dogs that can stay outside for long periods in extreme weather – they have short fur with no undercoat and require protection. Pollo was given up because his family felt that he was too anxious and timid. He is a puppy and the next few months are important for training – positive reinforcement is the only way to go. The combination of exercise, socialization, and training will go a long way into boosting this fellow’s confidence. Pollo has lived and gets along with other dogs. He could use some work on toilet training – patience and consistency will work wonders. Animatch is looking for a family with experience – ideally with Dalmatians or high energy breeds – that is home a good part of the day. Pollo is 5 months old and the next few months are crucial to his development and journey to becoming a well-adjusted dog.
