Saved in Memory of Mongo Barzycki.

Catherine and Thomas Barzycki sponsored this transport in loving memory of their beautiful Mongo, who crossed the Rainbow Bridge at age 17 last year. Catherine states, 'She came to us as a 4 month old from a horrible breeding situation in Buffalo. A few weeks later, the house where the dogs were kept, burnt to the ground. Mongo was the last to make it out alive. She was a timid, introverted girl who was afraid of everything as a pup. She blossomed into one of the happiest, most loving friends you could ask for. Her passion was her people and chasing chipmunks at our summer house. She was named appropriately as it turned out, because at eight pounds she would take off after deer in our woods, but always came right back when we spoke her name. It is in her honor that we sponsor this transport to save lives as hers was saved.'

Mack was born about December 30, 2015 and will weigh about 50 lbs. The high kill shelter in the south and the shelter staff doesn't ask any questions on intake they just thankfully accept the pets they are given.  Sadly, the area is suffering financially and this is often the reason for relinquishment.  Everyone fell in love with this guy so off to the vet he went for neutering.  The vet also extracted two teeth that were abscessed and cracked way up into the bone and had to be causing pain.  We asked for an x ray while he was still under and it was determined that he was probably hit by a car at some point as the right side, lower, jaw has a fracture that healed on it's own and he can eat and drink just fine.  He's a lucky boy!  The CD with his x ray is in his medical record.  He has been wonderful with the other dogs and with all of us - he's just wonderful.  We are so happy to welcome him to the safety of New York - glad he made the trip!

Update from foster mom:

Mack is a marvelous, marvelous dog.  He is SOOO happy go lucky, and when he wags his tail his whole body sways with it.  He is so laid back, and so ready for any adventure that you will bring his way!  I cannot say enough about his great attitude about life, eating, going on walks, hanging out with friends, new and old alike.  He adores other dogs, too, and has done well with young and old, small and large.  I have never seen him demonstrate anything but friendliness towards all.  He is house broken and minds his manners nicely.   He sleeps well through the night. Because I do not have enough crates, he is one of the ones that I trust to behave while I am not home.  He has not let me down yet.

Mack has a little too much interest in cats so should have a home with none. Mack also exhibits wanderlust, enjoying exploring, and it would be best if he not be allowed off leash.  Mack does love to swim.

So overall, Mack is a wonderful dog.  He loves spending time in my fenced yard, lollying around with his dog pack.  He loves going to the barn to do chores.  He loves good food.  He adores people of all ages.  He is a loving, kind, wonderful dog.  He will make someone a great companion.  He is full of adventure and anyone would be lucky to have this handsome four legged family member!
