Rocky's Story...

Rocky has waited (sigh)...waited (sigh)...and waited (sigh) for a new forever home.  He watched as his mother (yellow lab mix) got adopted; then his sister (red lab mix) got adopted; then his penmate (beagle/hound mix) got adopted.  All the dogs who were rescued at the same time as Rocky got adopted and he just cannot figure out why he keeps getting
overlooked.  He really is a handsome boy with thick curly hair and always seems to have a smile on his face!  He is a medium size, standing about 17-18' at the shoulder.  He has gotten a little chunky (about 55#) but Rocky LOVES to go for
walks, preferably off leash, and would be fit and trim again with regular exercise.

Rocky would love to have a home where he could be an inside dog so he could be part of the family instead of having to live outside in a pen.

Dogs of his age usually do not have any problems at all adjusting to life as an inside dog once they get use to the new noises and learn the daily routine of going outside, especially if he had a canine companion to show him the 'ropes'.
Rocky is outstanding with other dogs and gets along great with both alpha and submissive dogs.  He wouldn't mind having a cat or two for companions but he does like to aggravate them.  Rocky is not real sure about young children - they kind of scare him because they do things so suddenly and sometimes loudly but he loves the older children who are ten or older cause they like to give him lots of attention and play with him.

Rocky is in the prime of his life (estimated date of birth is 12/15/07).  He still loves to play with the younger dogs and race around the fields at his foster home.   Rocky is friendly and likes attention.  If you are kneeling down to pet or hug him, Rocky likes to lean against you and try to tip you over!  He really is a love and always seems to be so happy!  He has been neutered, on monthly heartworm medication and has a
microchip.  Any necessary vaccines or veterinary care will be brought up-to-date before his adoption is final.
