Red's Story...
Hi, my name is Red. I'm a handsome southern gentleman, all the way from Alabama. I love to snuggle with my people, and I like the company of other dogs. I don't like to be alone much, so my new family should know that I struggle with this. But everyday I am getting better. I love long walks, even in this crazy northern weather. I am a dapper, happy Doxie, around 7 years old, who longs for an active, social family, who has lots of time to spend with me. I am up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and neutered. My adoption fee is $200. Apply to adopt me here: https://rescueofhope.com/adoption-application/.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Red, a Grand Rapids Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Grand Rapids, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Grand Rapids.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Grand Rapids already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Grand Rapids breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Grand Rapids paves the way for another one to be saved.
