Facts about Gemma

  • Breed: Boxer/American Staffordshire Terrier Mix
  • Color: Brown/Chocolate - With White
  • Age: Young
  • Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
  • Sex: Female
Her name is Gemma. She's 1 year and 3 months. Gemma is a very interesting dog who acts a lot like a 4 year old. She loves watching cartoons, sliding down slides at the park, and playing with her toys.Gemma loves going to the dog park but is a big scaredy cat of bigger dogs than her. She prefers playing with dogs the same size as her or smaller. She will get kind of spikey when she meets a new dog if it's bigger than her but there's a trick to getting her hair back down. All you have to do is walk away with her and walk back to that same dog. 2nd time always works. She never bites other dogs. She also never barks at home or out on a walk. She will only bark at the park with other dogs when she's playing chase. Gemma LOVES ball!Gemma loves streams and puddles but hates showers so bathing her in a tub or container of water is best.

About San Gabriel Valley Animal Advocates

About Our Rescue Group...

Our organization is dedicated to the protection and humane treatment of pets in the San Gabriel Valley area. We encourage people to rescue a homeless animal instead of buying one. We screen each new potential owner to ensure that an animal and owner are a good match. We also educate the community on the importance of early vaccinations for fatal and easily preventable diseases. We also advocate spaying or neutering to reduce pet overpopulation. Once an animal is in our care we vaccinate all rescues against disease & provide needed health care, fight pet overpopulation by spaying or neutering all rescues, and provide lifetime shelter and care to any rescued animal that is not adopted.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We post pictures of our adoptable pets at sgvaa.org, our Facebook page and on Instagram. We have live-in habitats in the West Covina and El Monte petcos. Just recently we started showing our pets on weekends at the Hunting Beach Petsmart location.
