My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Talk about your stylish imports...vavavoom.

This little lady is an Egyptian Baladi/ Basenji mix, she is here all the way from Kuwait. That's right-Kuwait.

Zoey was walking along the side of the road when a truck pulled along side of her. Inside the truck was a gentleman who took one look at Zoey and realizing she was in a dangerous area, took her to safety. Upon closer inspection, the kind gentleman also noticed Zoey had a thorn in her eye. Zoey was taken to a safe area where she received compassion and medical attention for her injury. Food, shelter, safety and love were extra bonuses. Zoey worked herself into the gentleman's heart so deep, he ended up sending her home to his family. After 6 months in quarantine, Zoey was finally home.

Zoey had her own family now. She was anxious to get down to a normal life where running, playing fetch and walking were all in a day's work. Zoey is true to her breed as an Egyptian Baladi/ Basenji mix, with a high energy level Zoey could easily keep up with the best of runners or joggers. But Zoey also has an off switch and enjoys relaxing too.
Zoey has a unique way of wagging her tail. It doesn't wag like a dog's tail, it wags in a circle. Her mom said it looks like a helicopter propeller getting ready to lift her off the ground.

Zoey is afraid of loud booms and we can certainly understand that. She is not destructive in any way, she just wants to be held close. Zoey still has puppy tendencies, so with very small children she wants to nibble them, so we would not want that...she needs to be with teens who can read her body language and are a little more in control of her actions.

Zoey is very gentle with puppies that she plays but it would be a better fit if she were the only dog.

Zoey will need to have a COMPLETELY fenced in yard so she can run and enjoy nice days in safety. Zoey is HIGH ENERGY and VERY SMART, but she has an off switch too. Zoey is not a fan of cats. Applicants must be experienced with a dog's body language, basic training of a dog and have an understanding that this is a high activity dog.

Zoey is a 3 years old, Egyptian Baladi/Basenji mix, UTD on vaccinations, housebroken and spayed. If you would like to meet Zoey, please email: homes4angels@yahoo.com for a short application or call Chris at 586 563 4127.
