Hi, Hi, Hi, Hi, my name is Snow and I LOVE people and other dogs. I am very excited to meet people and will jump up on you. I need to work on my manners. I need LOTS of exercise and to attend a training course with you! My ideal forever home has other dogs for me to play in and a very large fully fenced area for me to stretch my legs out and burn off allll this puppy energy! Please no fences under 6 feet high! I can clear a 5 ft fence. I am generally submissive with other dogs and will go belly up. I am very friendly and have no issues with handling. Due to my large size and hyperness, I am best suited with older children, or no children at all. I am very large for a husky mix and am a lot of dog. If adequately exercised, I am great in the house and settle right down. I am 1 year old and need someone able to handle and calm my overexcited hyperness! I might like to take up a mushing sport with you to help with my energy burning! I am crate trained, house trained, neutered, UTD on my vaccinations and am microchipped. I am located in Tweed, ON and my adoption fee is $350.

-adoption process and fees apply

About S.H.A.R.P. Siberian Husky Assistance and Rescue Program

About Our Rescue Group...

S.H.A.R.P. Awareness

The Siberian Husky Assistance and Rescue Program (S.H.A.R.P.) is an organization dedicated to the health, welfare and happiness of Siberian Huskies. By working with animal shelters, rescue groups, dog owners and the general public, our goals are:

To offer advice to owners about the proper care and ownership of Siberian Huskies
To provide education and information about the Siberian Husky breed
To assist with the rescue of Siberian Huskies

Advice. The membership of S.H.A.R.P. consists of owners and breeders of Siberian Huskies. Our members have a wealth of knowledge about the behavior, training and care needed for the breed. We are eager to offer our experience to help others enjoy the company of their pet. In addition, we have access to a wide variety of information and expertise, including the Siberian Husky Club of Canada, the Canadian Kennel Club and several international organizations. We want people and their Siberians to have long, happy lives together.
Education. The Siberian Husky is a beautiful and noble breed. They are often seen in movies, television and advertisements. Unfortunately this exposure can and has led to problems. People want to own a Siberian because of their beauty and the behavior seen in these controlled situations. They do not realize the time and effort needed to work with a Siberian in order to achieve these goals. Similar problems occurred with the Dalmatian and Saint Bernard breeds with the movies “101 Dalmatians” and “Beethoven”. S.H.A.R.P. cares about the image and myths that exist about the Siberian Husky breed. We want to ensure people understand the Siberian Husky.
Rescue. Although we hope that through advice and education, all Siberian Huskies and their owners will enjoy a lifetime together, in reality this does not always happen. When all else fails, S.H.A.R.P. works on the rescue, rehabilitation and relocation of a Siberian Husky in distress. We help local shelters and humane societies rescue neglected or mistreated Siberian Huskies. We also use this network and other contacts to return lost Siberians to their owners. And we work with these organizations and the general public to find new homes for Siberians.
S.H.A.R.P. members receive no salaries for their work. All our members donate their time because of their love of the breed. However, Siberian Huskies, which come under our care, frequently require extra medical and nutritional assistance. S.H.A.R.P. would welcome your donation to help our efforts. If financial assistance is not possible, contributions towards our auctions will be accepted.

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption process is similar to other rescues. The first step is to fill out our adoption application. After we have reviewed it and discussed amongst ourselves, a home visit will need to be scheduled. After the home visit (sometimes at the same time if local to the dog of interest), a meet and greet will be scheduled with your whole family and your pets. After the meet and greet, you may pick up your dog from their foster home, sign the contract, and pay the adoption fee! We do not adopt dogs over 6 months of age to homes with cats.
