Scout's Story...
Scout is an 8 yr old shorthaired grey and white male who led a very sheltered life before coming to us due to his owner's girlfriend's allergies. He has done ok with the cats he's met and is housed with but he is not yet ready for attention or affection from us. His previous owner said he liked being petted and hanging out with him after work. Maybe once he trusts people again...
As with all cats adopted through PAWS, Scout has been neutered, seen by a vet, dewormed, flea treated, vaccinated-including rabies, and microchipped.
All adoptions come with a free exam at a local vets, one month of pet health insurance, and gift certificates from local pet shops.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Scout, a Kingston Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Kingston, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Kingston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Kingston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Kingston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Kingston paves the way for another one to be saved.
