My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

An adoption application on ZYDECO can be found at the following link: http://wp.me/P73YMd-1h
Please email the completed application to weatherley.woofriver@gmail.com
Please submit an application AND do NOT also contact the shelter. You will be contacting both the adoption coordinator and the marketing director, who do not see each other's emails. This causes confusion.

Little ZYDECO was born 11/8/2017. She is a fun puppy who adores soaking up affection from anyone offering to give her some! She is smart, sweet, and her cuteness is off the charts! She is incredibly well socialized and even gets to go to work with her foster mom regularly. ZYDECO is wonderful with other dogs. She also shares her foster home with cats, though her foster mom thinks a forever home without cats would be the best fit for this girl. ZYDECO is doing really well on her crate and house training for her young age. We attribute that to the fact she and her sisters got to stay with their mommy until they were 7 weeks old. This is immeasurably valuable and goes a long way towards well adjusted babies. ZYDECO turns 10 weeks old 1/17/17 so she is old enough to spread her wings and fly to her forever family.

ZYDECO will be microchipped and vaccinated as many times as age will allow when she arrives to her forever home.
Her $450 adoption fee includes her interstate health certificate and cost transport to New England after she is adopted.

Please email the completed application to weatherley.woofriver@gmail.com. It typically takes us around 5 BUSINESS DAYS to process an application. We will reach out to you as soon as your application is processed.

All of our dogs start their journey in Memphis, Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted. Once adopted, they travel via one of our transport partners to their new forever homes. We use Alpha Dog Pet Transport for our New England, Nashville, and Knoxville adoptions (https://alphadogtransport.com) and The Road Home Pet Transport for our Midwest adopters (https://www.facebook.com/roadhomepettransport).

Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff.

Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you request, complete, and submit an application before asking additional questions. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, Woof River is 100% volunteer operated. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding.
