Snookie's Story...
"My names's SNOOKIE, and I'm an affectionate, friendly, intelligent, and well-trained pointer mix sweetheart who wants to be somebody's loyal pal. Simply put, I'm a ray of sunshine! I'm about four years old, which is a great age. After I get my daily exercise, like a good walk, I'll be calm in my home. I excel at playing ball. I'll lie down before you throw the ball, and I always return the ball to drop it on command. Needless to say, I'll want a good-sized yard in my home where I can play fetch with you. I'd be an excellent family pet in a home where the kids are older, and I'll need to be the only dog in the home. Everyone here at the El Cajon Animal Shelter agrees that I'm a great dog who'll be a true friend to the family, so please come spend some time with me out in the nice play yard that they have here so you can see for yourself. I've already been house trained, I sit on command, I walk nicely on a leash, and I'm very obedient. Now all I need is someone who'll love me and take good care of me. Maybe that will be you. Love, Snookie"

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Snookie, a El Cajon Pointer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pointer for sale in El Cajon, or seeking a Pointer dog from a breeder in El Cajon.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in El Cajon already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a El Cajon breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pointer breeders who help with Pointer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in El Cajon paves the way for another one to be saved.
