My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Gus is a two-year-old brown and black tiger male cat. Gus was found limping down an inner-city street. He had cat fight wounds, a painful injury to his paw, and eyes streaming and leaking from a very bad cold. He also was quite…. odorous. Antibiotics, nutritious food and a safe and caring environment has revealed a calm, mild, and very sweet soul. Gus is very talkative, and loves to talk to you, only liking one thing better: when you talk to him! Gus loves humans, and comes right to the front of his cage when you approach him. He has gold eyes anchored over chubby cheeks, and he’s just cute. If you have room in your heart for a gentle and quiet companion, Gus is your boy!

At PAAWS RI, all of the cats that come into our care are spayed/neutered, receive a rabies vaccination, distemper vaccinations, de-worming, flea treatment, microchipping, and testing for Feline Leukemia/FIV.

Our shelter is located in the Care for Animals veterinary hospital, at 2944 Post Road, Warwick, RI 02886. You are welcome to visit during the following hours: Monday and Tuesday 8 am to 5 pm, Wednesday 9 am to 7 pm, Thursday 8 am to 5 pm, and Friday 9 am to 3 pm. We have an Adoption Open House every Saturday from 10 am to 12 noon – hope to see you there! We're also happy to set up appointments.
