Additional info: Ryder was found running the streets extremely scared on New Year's Eve! The Shelter says that he seems sad and confused but is slowly coming around. Ryder is a little joy. He is very outgoing and friendly, seems to be high energy and is good with other dogs. He is quite the athlete and can climb certain fences/baby gates etc. so he needs a secure environment. He does, unfortunately, hate his crate and will bark and whine when left alone and crated. This is because of separation anxiety and we are working with his foster to help train and desensitize him so that he will feel more comfortable when left alone. He also has a little leash pulling habit which we are working on. He is sweet with dogs and people. He is not yet housebroken but is working on it hard.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ryder, a Encino Maltese/Havanese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maltese/Havanese for sale in Encino, or seeking a Maltese/Havanese dog from a breeder in Encino.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Encino already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Encino breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maltese/Havanese breeders who help with Maltese/Havanese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Encino paves the way for another one to be saved.
