MEET ELLIE!
This gorgeous salt and peppered girl is named Ellie! Ellie is a ~10 year old Black Lab mix who found her way to City of Elderly Love after her beloved, lifelong owner passed away right after the holidays. Luckily, Ellie's owner's neighbors stepped in to care for her and find her a safe place instead of taking her chances in a crowded shelter. Ellie is now in foster care, doing great and beginning her search for her future home!
Ellie is a medium-sized girl who has a ton of character which complements her wonderful personality and beauty. Its obvious that Ellie was well taken care throughout her life because she's in great shape and tip-top health besides a little age-related joint stiffness. Though older in age, Ellie still has pep in her step and keeps up on her hobbies! Her main hobby is stockpiling all the toys she can find in the house, laying on top of her collection, and squeaking one until she falls asleep. Once she is asleep, you'll see her cute little tongue slip out of her mouth - never fails! Ellie also LOVES to go for rides in the car and though she may need a boost in, will contently sit and watch the world go by. One of her favorite destinations is the pet supply store! She greets everyone with a wagging tail and toothy smile! She loves meeting everyone. She'll even do a little dance and wag her tail like crazy once you get home - whether you were gone for 3 hours or 3 minutes! Oh and by the way, she has a half-tail! We're not sure why, but it just adds to her charm.
Ellie recently lived with a cat before coming to the rescue and reportedly let her kitty friend climb all over her! While she didn't live with dogs, she did have a doggy companion in her old neighborhood and has done well in meets since coming to City of Elderly Love. She'd likely do best in a home with other low-key pets since she does love her nap time and likely with older kids who respect her creaky joints. Ellie is completely housebroken and has never had an accident. She's also happy to snooze the day away while you're at work. Looking for an easy-going companion? Perhaps Ellie is your girl!
