My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Faith, bless her heart, is a 4 year old Collie who came to us from Leavenworth Kansas. She is beyond badly malnourished and looks a lot like a Mexican hairless dog, sigh. She eats like a Hobbit, having a breakfast, second breakfast and so on, all day long. Small meals are helpful to undernourished dogs. Faith's bloodwork is awful. We have added some supplements and will recheck her reticulacyte count in a week to make sure we are making some progress on juvenile red cells hopefully turning into mature red cells. Her 34 pound frame needs to increase slowly to around 50 pounds, to make her a small but healthy girl.

Faith needs your support. She needs a loving long-term foster home where she can relax and get well and strong. She needs every resource RMCSR has in terms of money for veterinary specialists in dermatology and internal medicine. And she needs prayers that she has the fortitude to keep fighting.

We love Faith. She is the reason we do dog rescue. Please consider donating on behalf of our courageous Faith!

Please begin the process for adoption by reading our  Adoption Policies  and, if we sound like the right group for you, fill out our online  Adoption Application . From there, our receipt of your completed application will be confirmed by email.  You then will receive a follow-up phone call if we feel you are a good potential applicant for the dog. Lots of good conversation with the foster family, a reference from your veterinarian, and a home visit round out the screening process. We take dog adoption very seriously.  Please put a lot of thought into why you want to adopt a dog, and help us make a good match for your family. We appreciate your taking the time to visit with us. We will look forward to hearing from you as well.
