Lady's Story...
Lady is missing her former home and hopes someone will give her a chance to have a new and forever home real soon. Unfortunately her previous owner was no longer able to take care of her and her friend, Tootie, a blind Chihuahua. She is a very sweet girl who at this point has only been with a small dog. She's a Dachshund mix who has a short black hair coat, weighs approximately 13 pounds and appears to be housebroken. Her first birthday was July 9, 2015. This cutie is dreaming about the lap she once cuddled in and would love to find another one so she can give her all her love to that lucky person. Get your adoption application in soon for the chance to meet and fall in love with Lady.

Our adoptable DOGS are NOT at our Chain Bridge Road offices. To see them, submit an adoption application at http://hsfc.org/adoptions/applications/online/. Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lady, a Fairfax Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Fairfax, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Fairfax.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Fairfax already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Fairfax breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Fairfax paves the way for another one to be saved.
