Cindy Lou's Story...
Meet Cindy Lou Who! This little 9 lb. 9 year old cutie, is very appropriately named because she will indeed turn any and all Grinch’s frowns upside down  Cindy Lou is a fun and happy little girl. She loves to cuddle, loves to play with you (she is still afraid of toys but will play with people), loves to ride in the car and be out and about with you, loves to sit with you while you watch TV or read a book…basically Cindy Lou just loves life! Her only flaw so to speak is that she seems to feel she should go with you all the time and if you leave she will howl for about 45 seconds to a minute (yes, we have timed it) and then she will go settle down. Because of this one teeny issue she would probably not be suited to an apartment or condo. Cindy Lou is great with dogs and cats and is housetrained with the very occasional accident. Cindy Lou does have limited vision (doesn't slow her down 1 bit) and dry eye for which she gets Optimmune 2x a day. If Cindy Lou is your girl please email us at info@seniordoghaven.org or fill out an application at http://seniordoghaven.org/adoption-process/. Thank you for visiting with our Cindy Lou!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Cindy Lou, a Wilmington Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Wilmington, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Wilmington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Wilmington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Wilmington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Wilmington paves the way for another one to be saved.
