Phipps is a male Shih Tzu mix puppy approximately 10 months old. He is a beautiful tricolor of beige, cream, and chocolate brown. Phipps has been professionally groomed and is non-shedding. He currently weighs 10 pounds and should fill out to an adult weight of about 14 or 15 pounds. He is a gorgeous young dog with a warm and sunny personality. Everyone who meets him comments on his engaging, social ways. Phipps delights in just about anything and gets along seamlessly with everyone, both people and dogs. He bops around without a care in the world and he is always smiling. He is a funny little guy, adorably playful and eager to please. He pounces on his toys like a cat and knows how to entertain himself. Phipps will come when he is called and enjoys a gentle touch. He is a gentle dog himself and his play is appropriate and fun. We especially like when Phipps is done playing, he will flop down on the cool floor with his back legs stretched out behind him, and then look up at you with his intelligent brown eyes as if to say, "now what?" Phipps is quiet in the house, has excellent manners, and appears to be completely housebroken. He takes treats gently from your hand and will cuddle up with you in your lap when its snuggle time. How this adorable gem ever ended up in the shelter we have no idea. Phipps was rescued from a very high-volume/high-kill shelter where he was brought in stray. He has been vet checked and is very healthy. Phipps is ready for his new forever home today!

Phipps’s adoption donation is $525 (*TAX DEDUCTABLE). He has been NEUTERED, MICROCHIPPED, VACCINATED, DEWORMED, DEFLEAED and PROFESSIONALLY GROOMED. Also included is his collar with ID, harness, leash, folder with all of his records, a great PETCO coupon book, and a fun goodie bag with toys, etc.

Phipps is being fostered by Pet Match Rescue Foster Volunteers, Kirstie and Family and is ready for his forever home.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

PHIPPS, a Newport Beach Shih Tzu puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Newport Beach, or seeking a Shih Tzu puppy from a breeder in Newport Beach.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Newport Beach already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Newport Beach breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Newport Beach paves the way for another one to be saved.
