Lucy Rose's Story...
Hi! My name is Lucy Rose. I just came up from Kentucky and I recently weaned a litter of pups. My people surrendered me and my babies. My kids went to another rescue and I got to come here to Barely Used Pets. I am a big girl weighing 55 lbs. and I am 2 years old. They say I have a sweet loving personality, and am good with other dogs and kids. I love to ride in the car and I am house trained. I am up to date on shots and I’m on the spay surgery schedule. Listen, I’m good with letting the kids go…kind of like them going off to college so they don’t end up living in my basement playing with their chew toys ;-)

I love to rub my side against the kennel for a good ear scratch, but I also love running out on the playground with my new friends! Won’t you please take me home? I promise to give you all the love you can handle, and then some. So…what are you waiting for? Come on…Let’s Go Home!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lucy Rose, a Urbana Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Urbana, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Urbana.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Urbana already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Urbana breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Urbana paves the way for another one to be saved.
