Meet Betty, a 3 year old Cairn / Chihuahua mix weighing about 7 lbs, who was rescued from a bad situation where she didn't receive the proper socialization. She is learning that people can be nice but it takes time and patience. She is starting to come around because she sees my dogs getting affection from me but she is still a bit leary of me. She will sniff me or lay by me but won't initiate wanting to be held or pet. She isn't a biter, she just runs away or hunkers down in fear. She is learning that treats are yummy and will come to me for a treat though I think she is following the lead of my other dogs. We are working on her going potty outside so that is a work in progress. She loves her four legged foster siblings and would play with them all day if they would let her. She will require patience and reassurance to build her confidence with people. She will require a home that has another dog, and a fenced in yard.
All pets are spayed/neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations and on a flea/tick preventative. Cats are tested for FIV/FeLV and dogs are tested for heartworms. Adoption fee is $110 for cats and $150 for dogs.
