Emiliano's Story...
Looking for a feline with an international flare? I’m Emiliano. How’s that for an exotic name? I must have traveled to Friends of Homeless Animals from across the ocean – originating in Barcelona or Venice, right? Well, more like Shenandoah County right here in Virginia. Well, how did I get a name with such international flare? Maybe like the comic feline Garfield, I crave lasagna? Well, not so much (though I certainly won’t turn my apricot-colored nose up at it). Stealing lasagna off your plate would be rude. You won’t be stealing the kibble from my bowl, will you? Ooh, maybe I’m a fabulous footballer, retiring to Northern Virginia after successful seasons as a forward for Real Madrid? Nah, I’m more the feather or fuzzy toy on a string type of an athlete. Sure, you could be sipping a dry Lambusco with a handsome Italian named Emiliano, or you could be enjoying pets and purrs with me, the orange tabby Emiliano. No matter how exotic my name may be, there’s really only one thing I want you to call me – yours!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Emiliano, a Aldie Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Aldie, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Aldie.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Aldie already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Aldie breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Aldie paves the way for another one to be saved.
