Duke's Story...
DUKE (DOB May 2016) is a young male Pyr, possibly an Akbash mix. And just like his namesake, John Wayne, Duke is a big guy, lanky, athletic, and full of happy energy. Duke and his sister, "Bella Senorita". (tag #12585) were surrendered to Animal Control by their original owner after Bella suffered a very serious wound from barbed wire. A caring Hill Country vet took the pair in November and nursed both pups to health, asking TGPR to help find them a wonderful home. At first Duke was very shy, but now he is loving life and full of affection. For a pup of just 8 months, he is already very tall, and we expect he will be a big boy. Duke has short hair and is almost all white with double dew claws. We hope this pair may find a home where they can stay together. But if not, we know Duke will be ready for adventures on his own!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Duke, a Kyle Akbash/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Akbash/Labrador Retriever for sale in Kyle, or seeking a Akbash/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Kyle.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Kyle already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Kyle breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Akbash/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Akbash/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Kyle paves the way for another one to be saved.
