Hello, I'm Mofi.  Actually, I don't remember my original name but let me tell you my story. I had a human family. They loved me for few months, but then one day they left me outside and disappeared. I meowed for several days, tried to peek through windows, even stretched up on doors but there was no sign of them. I was hungry, cold and lonely. The reality struck me, I was abandoned and homeless. I hated when it rained and hated even more outside when winter arrived. One day I was hungry and couldn't find anything to eat, I saw this human who left some food in a bowl outside. I was scared and did not trust this human but appreciated her leaving food for me. Whenever that human would see me, she would try to get closer while leaving food but I was scared and would hiss at her. Pretty soon, I realized she is a kind human and one day I extended a paw of friendship. She accepted my friendship and we became friends. I had feline acne, ear infection, eye infection and my face was in bad condition. My human, I started calling her mommy, took me to the doctor and lovingly nursed me back to health. I love being indoors since it reminds me of my kittenhood. My foster mommy has two other cats. I don't pay attention to those lazy cats nor I am bothered by kids or those species who woof woof. Sometimes I want to play with them but since I am little bigger than them, they refuse to play with me. Want to know a secret? I love to knead. I could become a great bakery chef if I ever get the chance. I keep practicing my skills on my foster mommy's stomach making her giggle and love it when she runs her fingers in my shiny orange coat when I am cuddling with her. I nuzzle her with my soft purr and she loves when I talk back to her. Did I tell you that I have a smiley face with natural pigments on my lips which make me even cuter. I am very intrigued by my tail and, oh boy, if I ever catch the end of it, I would be thrilled. Recently my foster mommy lost her job and is facing financial problems. She is looking for a loving home for me in a hope that I would be loved as much as she loves me. I hope someone will take me to his/her home to play, love and cuddle with me. I promise I would be a good boy and would bring so much love in your life. I am not a needy or whiny cat, I mumble more than meow, I sleep on the floor, mats, carpet or in my bed. I have been trained well and understand what 'no' means. I am very well mannered, don’t jump up on the counters or tables. Am I the one you are looking for? (Wink. Wink).

About Fancy Cats Rescue Team, Inc.

About Our Rescue Group...

Fancy Cats Rescue Team was founded to provide the community a "safety net" for cats and kittens that are abused and abandoned, or added to the euthanasia list at the shelters that we are currently participating with. We are a 501 (c) (3) Nonprofit Organization and participate with the United Way/CFC #8929. The goal is to have no kill shelters in place. Education and responsible pet ownership are the foundation of our organization. Our program provides literature, counseling, referral services and educational resources to families and individuals needing guidance. Teaching people responsible pet guardianship by spay and neutering their pets, behavioral modification and health concerns. We also provide a mentoring environment for our youth volunteers where they can learn the rewards of community service while caring for animals that need their gentle, loving kindness. They also interact with the community providing self-confidence and the ability to interact with a variety of cultures and diverse backgrounds. Once an animal is received into our program, they remain with us until a safe, appropriate home is found. They are never euthanized based on their age or space limitations. They are given appropriate medical care, immunizations, spays or neuters and endless hours of tender, loving care. We are an all-volunteer organization with no paid staff. We are funded by community donations, 91% goes toward the care and well being of our animals. Our adoption fees help offset our veterinary bills.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our adoptions are held at the Fair Lakes PETsMART in Fairfax Virginia, at the Chantilly PetsMART, at the Gainesville PetsMART, and at the Springfield PetsMART

Our Adoption Process...

Our adopters fill out an application that screens for problems that may be detrimental to our cats and kittens. Once the adopter is approved we provide veterinary referrals which help with low cost spays or neuters for the kittens that are too young at the time of adoption. We are always available to help with behavioral issues that arise. We provide numerous information sheets in our adoption folders, plus the medical background of each cat. The only fees involved with our program are adoption fees that offset our veterinary bills.
