Meet our Missy, a very happy and energetic 1yo and 12 lb Chihuahua mix. We aren't sure what the mix is, but suspect a Beagle might be in her family tree. She loves to run and jump and play, go on walks, and go to the beach. She also loves toys and chasing her favorite ball, but her absolutely favorite thing to do (when she's not trying to get a good snuggle) is roughhouse with her foster brother. Missy is currently learning in her foster home the basics: crate training, potty training, and all those socialization skills for living with people and other animals. She is learning not to bark at new people when they enter the house, and will benefit from some professional dog training as she is very smart gal. Missy is still very much a puppy, and will need a lot of patience and love. She would do best in an active home with another small young dog and children over the age of 10. Missy is spayed, microchipped, and current on her vaccinations. Missy's adoption fee is $250 which helps Second Chance Dog Rescue cover spay/neuter costs, vaccinations, medical treatments, food and supplies. ♥
All of our dogs are in private volunteer foster homes, and as such these individuals are most qualified to answer any questions regarding the dog.
We do not have a central shelter or kennel locations - you must make a private one-on-one meet and greet appointment with each individual dog at the foster family's convenience. To protect our foster families' privacy, we must have an APPROVED adoption application on file before we release their contact information.
All of our dogs are fixed (spayed/neutered) and up to date on shots. We have a 2 week foster-to-adopt period to make sure the dog is a fit for your family. Adoption fees vary from dog-to-dog.
Please note that an approved application DOES NOT guarantee that the dog will be placed with you. The final decision rests with our fosters as they know the dogs the best, and please be aware that there may be other applicants interested in the same dog. We continue accepting applications on a dog until the dog is with the new adoptive family in their home.
