My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This dog is a courtesy posting for Kritters Looking for Homes Rescue. This dog is being fostered in Dallas TX and must be adopted within the Dallas, or North Central Texas area.

NAME: Rosy
BREED: Beagle Mix
GENDER: Female (Spayed)
AGE: About 2 Years
WEIGHT: About 20 lbs.
DOGS/CATS: Great with all dogs, Not a fan of cats!
CHILDREN: Rosy loves children

Meet Rosy the beagle mix. This girl is really something special. She is ready to find a forever home and has so much love to share with everyone. She is great with people of all ages, and especially loves children! She is almost the perfect dog and we can't wait to unite her with a wonderful forever family.

Rosy is new to our rescue. One of our volunteers and her husband were visiting their family in East Texas and saw this girl eating out of a trash bag on the side of the highway near Shepherd, TX. Sooooo, they had to stop. Rosy came right to them when they called out to her and immediately rolled over for a belly a rub! She wasn't starving (what beagle nose is?), she was obviously finding lots of good trash to eat, but she had no collar, no microchip, and she was collecting fleas and lots of ticks. So we brought her home and added her to our rescue group.

Rosy is about 2 years old. She gets along great with the other dogs in her foster home. She enjoys playing with them and just chilling when it is nap time. Rosy loves to play with toys and we discovered while at the lake house, that she loves to swim!!! She went hiking with us and while her nose would take her away from us, she quickly came back upon being called. As we said, Rosy is really special. Note that Rosy is not a big fan of cats!

Rosy absolutely adores people of all ages, including children. She will make a GREAT family dog. She enjoys playing, taking walks, playing in the back yard and just hanging out. Rosy would love a home with a family who loves to cuddle with their dog. She loves laying next to someone and literally cuddling with them. She enjoys sleeping on the couch when her foster family isn't interacting with her. She is the perfect size at 20 pounds.

And while you may be thinking - ugh, beagle's bark - this one is the exception. She rarely barks and when she does it is very unusual, not loud, not a baying bark, hard to even describe. Sort of reminds us of some dog's whose vocal chords have been cut or damaged somehow. And the only time she does her bark/whine is when she is crated. So she's not crate trained and doesn't like it. But she doesn't need a crate! Rosy is housebroken, and has picked up on all the routines in her foster home. She is very smart.

As we mentioned, Rosy is almost the PERFECT dog. She will be fabulous in a family with children. If you are interested in giving Rosy her forever home, please email us at klhrescue@yahoo.com and ask for an application.

Rosy is spayed, micro chipped, up-to-date on shots, HW negative. and on heartworm prevention. She is ready to join a loving family - could that family be yours? Reference checks, adoption contract and $200 adoption fee required. .
