Dixie's Story...
FOSTER HOME FOUND!

The shelter is overflowing and Dixie must have a foster or adoptive home ASAP.

Dixie is waiting at the shelter and needs a foster and/or adoptive home ASAP. The shelter staff are wonderful with Dixie, but she is tired of being there and is becoming more and more miserable at the days pass. She needs to be in a home! Please, Please Help Her!!!!!!

This is the information from the shelter about Dixie:

Everyone meet Dixie! She is a beautiful pointer mix weighing in at about 48 pounds and approximately 3 years old. She was surrendered to us at the beginning of October because her owner was moving and couldn't take her with him. She was very sad and cried for a long time wondering if he was coming back for her, but as you already know, he never did. So now we are doing our best to make sure that her stay at the shelter is as pleasant and non-stressful as it possibly can be... but what would make her even happier and less stressed is a warm cozy bed and nice loving family to call her own! Sadly she has lived outside on a chain all of her life too so living inside and actually having the opportunity to be a part of a family would be the best gift she could ever receive! Ask about this beauty today! We are sure she will steal your heart!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dixie, a Columbia English Pointer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a English Pointer for sale in Columbia, or seeking a English Pointer dog from a breeder in Columbia.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Columbia already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Columbia breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even English Pointer breeders who help with English Pointer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Columbia paves the way for another one to be saved.
