Howdy y’all! I’m the new sheriff in town, Maverick! When I’m not out with the wild gang  kickin ’ up dust or chasing after tumbleweeds, I sure do love to kick back and relax alongside a good buddy and watch that great ball of fire dip below this fine skyline. I am currently in foster care and my adoring friends at Rock City Rescue say I am probably a Shep/Lab mix with a little hitch in my two-step, on account of my missing front leg. I  was found  on the side of the freeway on a VERY cold later November morning. I had some nerve damage in one of my front legs and after a month, I started chewing on it, so it had to be amputated. I've adjusted well and can get around just fine! I've made friends with the 2 little dogs in my foster home, so if you've got some friendly pups, I'd love to meet them! So, whaddaya say? Could I be the cowboy in your life? If you're interested in me, email your phone number to rockcityrescue@ gmail.com.  Looking forward to  makin ’ your acquaintance!

About Rock City Rescue- ME chapter

About Our Rescue Group...

We are committed to rescuing and rehoming dogs and cats who have been abandoned or surrendered. We pull dogs from high kill shelters to help them to be united with loving forever home, as well as help rehome animals found as strays and help families rehome their own pets they can no longer care for.

Our Adoption Process...

All animals 3 months or older must be sterilized prior to adoption. There is an adoption contract that's signed once an adopter has been approved for an adoption. There's no fee to apply for a dog, but adoption fees vary from dog to dog.

Currently, this rescue is run by one person and a variety of foster homes. We have full-time jobs like everyone else, so please be patient with us while we return your calls and emails. 90% of the time calls and emails are returned with 48-72 hours.
