Faith's Story...
Faith is 5 years old and weighs around 15 lbs.
There are many reasons that rescuers take special interest in certain homeless dogs in an overcrowded shelter. Who would have thought having extra padding on your belly was one of them!
Faith was rescued from a shelter in poor condition by a rescuer who thought she was pregnant due to her a little bigger-than-usual belly. To everybody's relief, it turned out that she was only a bit overweight, locked up in a cage with not much moving around. With proper care and lots of play time with other fosters, now she boasts svelte figure covered with glorious coat.

Faith loves everyone she meets, loves to snuggle, loves attention and gets along great with other dogs. She will make a great companion in any type of family.

Faith is currently fostered in a group home setting in Korea. We plan on bringing her to Northern Virginia in late June upon finding a forever family for her.

Prior to rescue, many of our dogs have experienced minimal socialization and it takes time for them to learn about life as a family pet. Common skills such as house training and leash walking may often take a little extra time. Patience, understanding and a gentle hand are a must. The great news is, most of these dogs come around rather quickly and being a part of their rehabilitation is an extremely rewarding experience.
We typically do not adopt to homes with children under 8 years old.
A home check is mandatory before adoption.
Adoption fee is $350.

We adopt to residents of Northern VA and Washington DC suburbs only.

If interested in Faith, please email us with a little info about you, your family, your other pets, your experience as a dog owner (which breed, etc.), where you live (which city, home or apt?), etc. including telephone number. Thank you.

*** About us ***
Hope For Donghae Paws(HDP) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) public charity dedicated to bringing rescue dogs from Korea to the US and finding permanent homes for them. It is true there are many animal lovers in Korea, but still many dogs suffer and are killed for food.
Our mission is to find US homes for mixed-breed dogs whose chances of being adopted in their native Korea are very low.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Faith, a Fairfax Papillon/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Papillon/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) for sale in Fairfax, or seeking a Papillon/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) dog from a breeder in Fairfax.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Fairfax already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Fairfax breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Papillon/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) breeders who help with Papillon/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Fairfax paves the way for another one to be saved.
