Purrsonable, Affectionate, Endearing Who is more lovable than Betty White?! Betty White the Cat! Cats, like a fine wine or a talented comedian, get better with age, especially if you are looking for a dedicated cuddle buddy that is sweet as pie. We can see why Betty the Cat got her name from Betty White. She is adorable, with a sweet-natured and gentle personality, and a bit of a spark! Much like her namesake, Betty is an experienced lady who know what she likes. And what she likes is to curl up in your lap when you sit on the sofa (Betty White may too - but disclaimer we don't actually know that). Betty is deaf, so don't take it personal if you talk to her and she acts like she doesn't hear you. It won't keep her from holding up her side of the conversation. Betty likes to purr and chirp little quips your way while relaxing on said sofa. Betty would be the perfect companion for a retiree or someone who works from home. Really, she would fit right with anyone who can keep her good company and give her the love she deserves. (We think both Betties would)! Our girl is friendly and congenial with people, but she's not quite fond of other cats. We must mention, Betty White loves all cats- but that's about the only difference between these two lovely ladies - oh, and that one is a cat. Our Betty needs to stay indoors because she was declawed before finding herself with APA!. This is fine and dandy with her, though. She keeps busy watching birds from the window and finding the perfect cushy place in the house to take a nap. Like many older kitties, Betty has Chronic Renal Disease. This just means her kidneys are not what they once were. This condition is so common that APA! offers a special adoption package. Read more about renal failure and adoption details here: http://www.austinpetsalive.org/2016/03/lives-worth-saving-cats-in-renal-failure Overall, Betty is doing well! Occasionally she may need medication or fluids when she decides not to eat for a couple of meals, but she responds quickly to treatment. This sweet gal keeps on going! If Betty sounds perfectly suited to you and your low-key home (no little kids, no other cats, no dogs), contact us to arrange a meet & greet. She will charm you, warm your heart, and fill your life with laughter and love. All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team. For further information or to meet Betty White, please email us at adopt@austinpetsalive.org.
