My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

11 long years passed as Betty sat and watched them go by. Unable to run and chase the squirrel that was passing by. Never brought into the house on cold winter night. She was just always there, chained in the same spot. She had a lovely neighbor who provided her with food and treats, even wiping her face with a cold rag on hot days when she couldn't get out of the sun. From the age of 8 months old, this is the only life she had ever known. Until now. Betty's owner surrendered her to avoid ticketing for not complying with Springfield's new tethering ordinance. Now at 12 years old, Betty is ready to actually start living life as a pet! She thinks the couch is pretty great and is looking for a home that will give her lots of love. She is good with other dogs and is incredibly sweet. She is also housebroken, but hates to be crated. Could you be Betty's happily ever after?

Betty's adoption fee is $75 and includes her spay/neuter, vaccinations, wellness exam, heartworm test, and microchip with free lifetime registration!
