Arbuckle's Story...
This cute wire haired dachshund mix is just a sweet little dog. He is approx 1 year old and 14 lbs. Arbuckle is a sweet very playful boy. He is curious about cats but gets along with them well. He loves other dogs and would do well with another dog to play with. He needs plenty of exercise and play time. He picks up quickly on routines. We are working on crate training, as of now he doesn't like it. He has had a great couple of days on his housetraining and will need a routine. He continues to work on his leash skills but could do with some more training. He is a homebody and is nervous when he has to go for a ride in the car.

The total adoption donation of $475 and includes the required interstate health certificate and transport , spay/neuter, shots including rabies, bordatella, parvo, lepto, distemper and canine influenza, and micro chip with a lifetime pre paid registration. The total amount is payable to Shaggy Dog Rescue which is a 501c3. We also provide a coupon for a free wellness visit to the South Wilton Vet group if convenient for you. Some of our dogs are still in Texas in foster care. Our application is online at http://houstonshaggydogrescue.org/application-process/

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Arbuckle, a Norwalk Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Norwalk, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Norwalk.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Norwalk already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Norwalk breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Norwalk paves the way for another one to be saved.
