My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cherie is a 7 year dark brindle brood mom, who just arrived from Kasnas with her sister, Leisel. She is not small dog or cat tolerant.

I can't believe we've only been in Arizona two days and my sister Liesel is already tussling with another greyhound.

Liesel tries to sound tough, but she's a big ball of marshmallow goo inside, just like me. We both turned seven last October.

I ran 113 races before heading back to the farm to raise puppies. I injured my back leg a long time ago so it's a little cattywampus. I'll be an awesome companion, just not a jogging companion. Just the thought of jogging makes me laugh...hahaha, snort, snort....oh, I think I peed a little.

So anyway, I'm looking for both a foster and a forever home. I'm picturing a quiet place with soft beds and nice, warm sun puddles. I'd love to nap and relax while my person watches movies or reads a book. A short daily stroll around the neighborhood would be nice too.

If you'd like a sweet, calm, quiet hound to keep you company, I'd love to meet you.

Cherie

FOSTER UPDATE:

Cherie was very shy upon arrival. She likes being in her crate but is slowly coming out of her shell and exploring the house more. She likes to be petted, but it takes her awhile to get close enough for it.

Cherie's broken hock is definitely an issue with her. It partially collapses when she walks on it. She is on pain meds, and it doesn't seem to terribly bother her. Sometimes when standing she doesn't use that leg. Cherie actually ran outside for a brief moment.

Cherie is almost sleeping through the night. Each night we've tried something different to get her comfortable. She does not like the x-pen. She doesn't do well roaming the house. Last night was the best, we put an extra crate in our bedroom and she slept until 5am. When she wakes up she starts barking and panting. I think she'll get better the more comfortable she gets.

She hasn't had any accidents in the house, we have kept her crated 4 hours at a time while gone, and she does fine with that. She gets along fine with my 2 female boxers, but I think she would be fine as an only dog.

She's a sweet girl who will be well in a quiet home with owners that can spend time with her.
