My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

1/22/17 - We are the wine puppies!

Cabernet, Merlot, Riesling, Chardonnay, Malbec, Zinfandel, Pinot Grigio, Chianti and Champagne

Our mom, Kit Kat, was dumped and expected to fend for herself even though she was pregnant with us. We were lucky and rescue took her in so we could be born into a comfy home that wanted to take care of us. Our mom is ready to find her forever home and so are we!

We are about 6 weeks old and only weigh a couple of pounds each.

The adoption fee of $495 includes age-appropriate vaccines, initial de-worming, spay/neuter surgery, microchip, USDA interstate health certificate (for transport only) and transport fee. Please go to our site for general information and the adoption application. fordogssakerescue.org. The application is the first step in all adoptions/inquiries. This is not a link; please type in into a new browser window. At this time, we are unable to adopt to Rhode Island residents. Please note: Pups marked “pending” are adopted but not yet traveled home. They are to be considered unavailable. Thank you. Additional information is available on our site fordogssakerescue.org.

*Catahoulas are highly intelligent and energetic. They are assertive but not aggressive by nature. Catahoulas in general are very even tempered. They make a good family dog but will not tolerate being isolated, so interaction with the dog is a daily requirement. When a Catahoula is raised with children, the dog believes that it is his or her responsibility to look after and protect those children. Many owners will say that the Catahoula owns them and they can be insistent when it's time to eat or do other activities. Catahoulas are protective and a natural alarm dog. They will alert one to anything out of the ordinary.
Catahoulas are a wonderful dog but may not be well suited to living in a small apartment or a very urban area.
