My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Doc Holliday is a beautiful long haired red with black tips senior boy who came to DREAM with his fur brother Wyatt Earp. He is housetrained, uses the doggie door, gets along well with other dogs and seems to like everybody. We don't have cats so I can't attest to that. He is very sweet and loves to be petted and loved on although he doesn't care too much for having his ears brushed. LOL
Doc has very thick cataracts on both eyes and he does not see well but it doesn't show him down one bit. After he learned the lay of the land he can go anywhere he chooses with no trouble. He likes to crawl up in your lap and run in the yard with his buddies. He came from the same home as Wyatt Earp so they are long-time best friends but Doc would do fine on his own. Ideally, we would like to see them go to the same home but he will make someone a wonderful laid back companion,

If you are interested in adopting Doc Holliday, you can fill out an application right on our website! Go to dreamhappytails.org/adoptform.shtml . Doc Holliday 's adoption fee is $300. All adoption fees go directly to veterinary care for DREAM dachshunds. Doc Holliday will go to his/her new home microchipped, altered, heartworm tested, and up to date on vaccinations. Most dogs' veterinary expenses are greater than our adoption fees.

DREAM is an all-volunteer rescue group, and we focus on the Atlanta, North Georgia and Savannah area. Because we are all volunteers, we can consider applications only within an hour of these areas. DREAM does not recommend purebred dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a doxie's back.
