Merle is a 9 year old female Australian Cattle Dog.

Merle prefers the company of humans to dogs and becomes nervous around small
children. She likes to be in charge of all the other dogs around her and
sometimes other dogs don't agree with the position she has assigned herself.
She doesn't know how to give that position up easily. She likes a quiet and
calm house, to curl up on the end of the couch and watch TV with you. She is
sweet and very smart. She knows all her basic commands and will tell you
when she needs to go to the bathroom. She will stay in one spot if you tell
her too and remain there until given permission to move. She walks very well
on a leash and always stays close whenever not leashed. She is eager to
please and needs the love and affection of a strong person. She loves the
beach, both water and sand, and does very well in the car. She has made
several trips up and down the entire west coast now several times. She needs
a forever home that can give her what she needs.
