Buddy's Story...
"Are you looking for a good buddy who'll shower you with love? Well, it just so happens that my name is BUDDY, and everyone remarks that I'm a wonderful little fellow. I'm an eight-year-old Dachshund mix, and I came to the El Cajon Animal Shelter after my owner passed away. My main ambition is to curl up on laps and give kisses, so it's a good thing that I just had a professional dental cleaning! I'd appreciate either an adult home or a family where the kids are older and considerate of me. I get along great with other dogs, and I'm sharing my kennel with my friend, Suki, because we get along so well. We can be adopted together or separately. She and I came to the shelter with one other Dachshund, but he already got adopted, so now it's our turn. The shelter staff thinks I've already been house trained. Won't you please come visit me so we can spend time getting acquainted? Once you meet me, you'll be amazed by just how good-natured and adorable I am. Hope to see you soon! Love, Buddy"

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Buddy, a El Cajon Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in El Cajon, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in El Cajon.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in El Cajon already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a El Cajon breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in El Cajon paves the way for another one to be saved.
