You’ve heard the expression that everyone needs a little black dress…..well, Vail is dressed and ready to go! She is our adorable black kitten who is looking for a forever home with her brother, Yukon. (Please check out his bio, too!) Black cats are often overlooked for adoption, but Vail and Yukon are hoping to change all of that. After all, their two siblings were adopted quickly into a fantastic forever home. You missed out on them, so here’s your chance!Vail is a sweet and active kitten. She reminds her foster mom of a little dancer. She looks like she’s prancing on her toes and definitely has a bounce in her step. She will roll onto her side for you to pet her, then she’s up, and turns back around to roll on her side. If you’ve had a rough day or just want to crash on the sofa, Vail will join you. She’ll usually be on the top back of the sofa, but she’s right there with you. Since Vail likes to look out over the room, she sure would appreciate a vertical cat tree so she can survey her new kingdom from a higher altitude.Vail’s foster mom requests that she be placed into a calm, adult-only household so she and her brother will be able to settle in comfortably at their own pace. Change can be hard, so they will need time to acclimate to their new surroundings. When she isn’t playing, Vail likes to be petted and even picked up, but only briefly. There’s so much to see and so much to do that she doesn’t have time to rest in your arms….she’s dressed and ready to entertain 24/7! She just needs some pearls to go with that black dress!
Thank you for your interest in one of our adoptable kitties. All of our kitties are fully vetted (age-appropriate vaccines, spayed, tested for feline leukemia and feline aids, and they are microchipped.) They live in private foster homes with their foster families. Our adoption fees are $75 - $120.
In order to match the best home for our foster kitties, we ask folks to complete our adoption application in advance; simply go to www.candyscats.org/forms. You will need to register on our site, and then fill out an Adoption Application. We'll review your information and get back in touch with you.
Cats are not adopted first-come, first-served, but rather the best home for the kitty, but we do give consideration to the folks who take the time to fill out the application in advance. Almost all of our volunteers work during the week; to be able to meet one of our cats by appointment during non-adoption days (Saturday, 11 - 4, Sunday 12 - 4), your application needs to be filled out in advance and approved by our adoption coordinator prior to scheduling an appointment to meet with the cats.
