You’ve heard the expression that everyone needs a little black dress…..well, Vail is dressed and ready to go!  She is our adorable black kitten who is looking for a forever home with her brother, Yukon.  (Please check out his bio, too!)  Black cats are often overlooked for adoption, but Vail and Yukon are hoping to change all of that.  After all, their two siblings were adopted quickly into a fantastic forever home.  You missed out on them, so here’s your chance!
Vail is a sweet kitten.  She’s a little bit shy, but give her a chance to warm up to you and you’ll see how charming she is.  If you’ve had a rough day or just want to crash on the sofa, Vail will join you.  She’ll usually be on the top back of the sofa, but she’s right there with you.  Since Vail likes to look out over the room, she sure would appreciate a vertical cat tree so she can survey her new kingdom from a higher altitude.
Vail’s foster mom requests that she be placed into a calm, adult-only household so she and her brother will be able to settle in comfortably at their own pace.  When she isn’t playing, Vail likes to be petted and even picked up, but only briefly.  There’s so much to see and so much to do that she doesn’t have time to rest in your arms….she’s dressed and ready to entertain 24/7!

Thank you for your interest in one of our adoptable kitties. All of our kitties are fully vetted (age-appropriate vaccines, spayed, tested for feline leukemia and feline aids, and they are microchipped.) They live in private foster homes with their foster families. Our adoption fees are $75 - $120.

In order to match the best home for our foster kitties, we ask folks to complete our adoption application in advance; simply go to www.candyscats.org/forms. You will need to register on our site, and then fill out an Adoption Application. We'll review your information and get back in touch with you.

Cats are not adopted first-come, first-served, but rather the best home for the kitty, but we do give consideration to the folks who take the time to fill out the application in advance. Almost all of our volunteers work during the week; to be able to meet one of our cats by appointment during non-adoption days (Saturday, 11 - 4, Sunday 12 - 4), your application needs to be filled out in advance and approved by our adoption coordinator prior to scheduling an appointment to meet with the cats.

About Our Rescue Group...

Candy's Cats is a group of like-minded people from various walks of life who share the common passion for the welfare of abandoned, unwanted kittens and cats. Aware of the statistics in our community of kittens and cats that are turned into shelters and are euthanized, we are doing what we can to reduce those statistics by rescuing, fostering, altering and adopting our feline treasures.

Volunteers for stores must be 18 and have their own transportation.

Our Adoption Process...

In order to adopt, you must be over 18. If you rent, a lease showing that a pet deposit has been paid must be provided. There will be a home inspection at our discretion. We ask that if you have small children or are married or have a significant other, please bring them with you so we can see how they interract with the kittens. If the kitten or cat will be by itself for a long stretch of time (more than 3 hours), consider adopting an adult who is used to being by itself, or, adopt siblings or a playmate. We offer a "two-fer"* adoption fee on select cats, which is a significant discount on our regular adoption fees. YOU MUST BRING A PET CARRIER WITH YOU IN ORDER TO TAKE YOUR KITTEN HOME. No kitten will be taken from the premises without a carrier.
