Looking for an adorably snuggly, fun, affectionate puppy? Spunky, leggy little Fudge has been living the high life in a fantastic foster home and can't wait to meet his forever family! Fudge is an outgoing, social guy who's confident and always up for an adventure. His rich chocolate color makes you want to just eat him right up! He loves to cuddle up with his people and has a very gentle demeanor. Weighing just over 8lbs., Fudge is estimated to have been born in July of 2016 and is neutered, microchipped and current on his vaccines. He lives in a foster home with other dogs, cats, and older children and is great with all. He can be vocal in new environments (classic small dog syndrome) but gets adjusted quickly and oozes his marshmallow sweetness all over everyone who comes to dole out attention towards him. He's initially a bit forward when meeting new animals, but drops the macho-act quickly and then is happy to hang out with whatever four-legged friend is around; he's actually a bit submissive with his housemates and will roll on his back to show his belly! He'll do great in any small-dog loving household where someone's looking for a fun-loving, adventuresome, sparkly soul! Location: Foster Home

About Contra Costa Humane Society

About Our Rescue Group...

Contra Costa Humane Society is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that operates such programs as Adoptions, Kitty Corner, Spay/Neuter Assistance, and AniMeals. We are not affiliated with any other rescue organization, humane society or spca.

Our mission is to empower our community to improve the quality of life for animals and decrease euthanasia rates. Through our programs and services, we connect with individuals and private and public organizations to adopt pets, reduce the number of unwanted animals, and educate the public to foster compassion, responsibility and respect towards animals.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our business office and Kitty Corner are located at 171 Mayhew Way, Suite 101 in Pleasant Hill, CA 94523.

Kitty Corner houses adult, senior, and special-needs cats (sometimes teenage kittens). Kitty Corner is open for adoptions on Saturday, Sunday & Monday from 12-3pm or during the week (preferably by appointment to make sure someone's available to show you the cats).

All of our dogs, puppies and kittens are located off-site in foster homes and can be met by appointment once adoption applications have been received and approved.

Our Adoption Process...

CCHS has animals available for adoption through a number of different avenues. Many of our kittens and all dogs are cared for in loving foster homes until they are adopted. Teenage, adult, senior and special-needs cats reside at Kitty Corner, an on-site, private cat shelter where cats are allowed to free-roam at all times, lounge in sunny windows and on comfy cat towers, and play to their heart's galore. Similarly, we also have animals available for adoption through our Re-Homing Assistance Program, where we help to advertise animals that caregivers are no longer able to keep.

If you are interested in meeting any of the animals listed on our website, please complete an adoption application unless otherwise noted!

Adoption fees are:
Kittens under 6mo: $130 ($200 for two)
Cats over 6mo: $90 ($150 for two)
Puppies under 6mo: $225
Dogs over 6mo: $175
