Roman, aka Romi, is a playful, 1 year old, Chihuahua mix currently weighing 8 pounds. He is a fun, sweet, charming little guy with an undershot jaw. Roman likes to snuggle in bed with his foster mom and seeks out the opportunity to get attention from her. Roman also really likes being with other dogs of various sizes. His favorite play buddy is Duncan, an Australian Shepherd mix, even though Duncan is much larger. Roman makes some funny “fierce sounds” when playing with Duncan, but it’s all an act.
Based on his foster mom’s observation, she believes Roman was probably mistreated or mishandled by his previous owners. He would do best with a knowledgeable dog owner who can show Roman leadership as well as kindness as his parent. Roman is fully housebroken and has not had an accident in his foster home; additionally, he has never been destructive so he could probably be given free run of his adoptive home (not crated) after he settles in. Roman’s foster mom does crate Roman for his safety while she’s at work since there are bigger dogs in the home. He does not like to be crated but settles in nicely once he is in there.
Roman is approved for adult only households since he is currently distrustful of new people and has some fear issues. He has been examined by a licensed veterinarian, neutered, inoculated against diseases, tested for Heartworm Disease and placed on monthly preventative, plus microchipped.
