My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

If you are interested in adopting Simi, we require a completed adoption application. The application is located at http://denversamoyedrescue.org/dsr_application.htm.

Comments below updated on 02/10/2017.

Currently we are only considering families located in the Colorado area or possibly the surrounding states, if the family is willing to come to Colorado to meet Simi in person.

Simi is a stray so we do not know his history, his original name or actual age. He arrived with burrs in his coat and very matted. He had his beauty spa appointment this Saturday (1/28/17) and he was EXCELLENT from bath to drying, to line combing.

Simi is capable of jumping a 3 foot fence (perhaps explains why he was a stray), but does stay contained within a 6 foot fence. He is very smart, and while at the shelter he was able to open the vertical sliding door to go visit and snuggle with another dog.

Simi has a sweet, laid back personality and been a quiet dog while boarded. He walks reasonably well on a leash and enjoys going on walks, and really enjoys jogging. He LOVES his belly-rubs. He is good around medium to large size dogs. No small dogs and no cats. He is tolerant of being groomed.

He is tolerant of older children, has not been observed with really young children. He rode well in a crate in a car, after getting settled.. He is housebroken, but with any new surroundings and being recently neutered, he will need some training to prevent marking in his new home.

We hope you will consider giving this special boy a loving home!
