Nope... Don't need no makeover here! Our 5-year-young Bloodhound Mix is so handsome, you will not need to Spruce him up to show him off to your friends. Spruce not only has the dashing "hound" debonair good looks, he's also got that familiar mellow bellow that you expect and love from his breed. We rescued Spruce from a neighboring animal control and brought him into our village. Spruce is super friendly, laid back and loves people. He's very anxious to connect with his forever person, lock with your scent, and love you forever! Spruce is a larger dog so needs some space to enjoy life. He is friendly with the other dogs so we think he would be great in most homes. Spruce is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and has been treated for heartworms. This is a non-contagious worm caused by a mosquito bite. As we recommend with all dogs, he needs to be on preventative so he won't ever have heartworms again. Spruce is ready for you to clip on his leash and walk where he can put down his exceptional nose and follow some of nature's scents. He is a strong guy. An experienced pack leader will quickly know how to command Spruce on many adventures. Our guy is also smart and is learning his potty manners. When kept on a regular routine, he will do his business outside. Spruce also enjoys his treats. Well, to be completely honest, we must disclose that he LOVES his treats! Just open a box and start some training sessions. Those treats will motivate Spruce to learn your rules and maybe a few new tricks too! We haven't come across many Bloudhounds in our rescue history. We definitely haven't come across many as friendly and destined for greatness like our Spruce. If you've been wanting to "spruce" up your life, and our fella seems like your perfect companion, quickly submit an adoption application to ITVRescue.org. Spruce is anxious to sniff out the perfect adoption fit. We'd love for his happily ever after to include Spruce sitting on a front porch or in a yard surrounded by a family who loves this hound with big ears and a great bellow!

About It Takes A Village Canine Rescue, Inc.

About Our Rescue Group...

It Takes A Village Canine Rescue, Inc. is a non-kill 501(c)(3) dog rescue dedicated to doing what it takes to find loving homes for stray, abandoned, and surrendered animals, and to keep these animals safe and free from further suffering. Our mission is "To work as one in helping homeless dogs irrespective of breed, location or circumstance." By working with committed volunteers, foster homes, local veterinarians, animal control, trainers, and boarding facilities, we are able to rescue countless animals every year and provide them with loving temporary care as we work to find them well-matched forever homes. Although we do not discriminate based on breed, size or color, we have a particular interest in bully breeds, black dogs and other hard-to-place dogs.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We are generally at Petsmart on Burkhart every Sunday and have adoption events at various locations throughout the year.

Our Adoption Process...

We require all adopters to complete an application and pay an adoption fee. Adoption fees vary, but are usually $150 to $175. We may do a vet reference check and/or home visit.
