What a little gem this boy is! This 16-pound boy came to the shelter with and eye injury that turned out to be a cancerous growth. The shelter vet removed the growth and had to do a little reconstruction on his face, which gave him an endearing snaggletooth look. He is precious! He loves everyone, and adapted immediately in the cattery with the other cats. He will need to be with cats who are not mean to him. He is adjusting to having only one eye. The cancer was caused from being exposed to the sun, which is dangerous to light colored cats. We are hoping the cancer doesn''t return, but there are no guarantees. George is FIV+ and must be an indoor only cat. FIV is a cat-only disease that CANNOT BE SPREAD TO HUMANS OR OTHER ANIMALS. FIV cats most often live long, healthy and relatively normal lives with no symptoms at all. FIV is not easily passed between cats. It cannot be spread casually – like in litter boxes, food and water bowls or when snuggling and playing. If you are interested in George, please visit LAPCATS'' web site at and complete an online application.
