Hi everybody! My name is River. I am really hoping I can find my forever home soon. I am a young malamute mix. Ever since the people who volunteer for the rescue came to save me I have learned so much. I have discovered that I love people, and I want to give and receive a lot of affection. I have really learned that I love talking to people also. I get so excited whenever I see the people who walk me and spend time with me. I love to give them kisses and lean on the people who help take care of me. A good belly rub is becoming my favorite. I am an active young boy and I really hope I can find an active home where I will get to have some exercise. I have plenty of energy for lots of walks and hikes.

I had a tough beginning in life and did not really experience what it is like to be loved. Now that I am feeing loved, I can't get enough! I really want to find my person who I can give all of my love to and who will love me. I want to be a good boy and, I hope someone will want to go to training with me. I think I will make an especially good companion if I get to do training with someone. I have learned how to sit already and I listen very well when people ask me to sit. I can't wait to learn more. I really love the treats I get when I do what I am asked.

I get to be in play group with other dogs where I stay now and I really like my new doggy friends. I think I would love it if I could find a home with a large canine companion.
