Sylvester's Story...
Sylvester is a very handsome shorthair tuxedo kitty who originally came to Safe Haven about three years ago. He had been living under an apartment building after his first family moved. He waited for them to come back for some time, and was finally brought to Safe Haven to find a new home. It didn’t take long for this sweet boy to be adopted by a very nice retired lady, and for the last three years he and his “mom” have been inseparable. He was such a happy kitty until the end of December, when his beloved caregiver passed away. Sylvester was immediately brought back to Safe Haven. He is clearly heartbroken at the loss of his mom. He just lays in his bed and meows pitifully when people talk to him. In addition, this FIV positive kitty needs some major dental work, so his mouth may be quite sore. We will get him the needed dental work and continue to shower him with affection. We will update this listing when Sylvester has recovered from his dental work and is ready for his new forever home.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sylvester, a Port Angeles Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Port Angeles, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Port Angeles.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Port Angeles already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Port Angeles breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Port Angeles paves the way for another one to be saved.
