Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Lemon, an approximately 2 year old male bullmastiff lost his eyes to glaucoma. When he came into rescue he was in pain and frightened, but after surgery and love, Lemon has blossomed into a confident, happy, young dog. He would do best in a home with no cats - or one cat smart enough to avoid him. Lemon guards his favorite toys from other dogs. Slow introduction to a calm female may be possible, but it might not be ideal.
Lemon gets around well with help. He will continue to learn what he needs to do to meet his needs. He needs a home with some help and patience. Lemon is beginning to understand basic words that help him step up and down as well as when to stop so he doesn’t crash into something. He doesn’t need walks, but does need a yard to wander around and occasionally doze.
If you’re thinking of adopting Lemon please don’t consider if you want to add a blind dog to your home, but rather think about whether you want a young, healthy, male bullmastiff with a special need.
Potential adopters must have experience with either a guard breed or blind dogs to be considered. For more information, please complete the online adoption application at www.bullmastiff.us/rescue. Inquiries may be directed to Camille at concannonc@gmail.com.
