Goliath's Story...
Grey Goliath (a Russian Blue-esque fellow under 1 year old) recently moved to a new foster home.

He was scared at first, as many cats are in a new environment, but his fosterers waited patiently for his confidence to grow.

Goliath was tempted out by his foster brother Manjuu (HPC alum Cameo – our 2017 calendar cover boy.)

We’ve found that a more confident cat can be a great mentor for a shyer one.

Goliath is one of a trio of grey adoptables – if you want to meet him, or Samson and Delilah, let us know at hydeparkcatsadoptions@gmail.com !

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Goliath, a Chicago Russian Blue cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Russian Blue for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Russian Blue cat from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Russian Blue breeders who help with Russian Blue rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
