Cheyenne's Story...
My name is CHEYENNE. I heard some dogs got loving families for Christmas, but for me, that's when I came to the county shelter. No one really sees me and my friends here, we don't get a lot of outside visitors because we are in a rural area of NE NC. You can share and help us get seen, though.

I am a big boy, maybe a St. Bernard mix, and very handsome if I do say so myself. Ms. Vicky spends time with me here, and if you watch my video you will see I LOVE her attention and hold so still to get some love and rubs. I am a sweetheart of a boy, I love treats, my Kong, and just want a forever family to love.

Please help me find a happy ever after. The volunteers are more than happy to answer any questions, or help in anyway to get me a loving family or rescue.

Love, Cheyenne

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Cheyenne, a Powellsville Mixed Breed (Large) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Mixed Breed (Large) for sale in Powellsville, or seeking a Mixed Breed (Large) dog from a breeder in Powellsville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Powellsville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Powellsville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Mixed Breed (Large) breeders who help with Mixed Breed (Large) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Powellsville paves the way for another one to be saved.
